Control Systems Engineer 

 

Summary/Objective

DD DANNAR, LLC, is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of a mobile, off-road energy platform that is the first in a new class of hybrid-electric work vehicles. We are looking for Control Systems Engineer to be responsible for the development of a central vehicle model and analysis toolsets, to be used by all stakeholders including vehicle dynamics, vehicle controls, durability, and performance.

Essential Functions:

    • Responsible for contributing/delivering vehicle-level energy functions. 

    • Implementation of production software and validation, as well as, the software development process.  Develop ground-up software modules including software subsystem architecture, controls, and hardware mode strategy. 

    • Integrate model-based code for testing.  Develop test vectors.

    • Participate in code-design reviews.

    • Extract data from prototype vehicles and identify correlation opportunities for the plant model.  Diagnostics requirements management.

    • Perform vehicle-level analysis and generate safety goals as well as DFMEA.

    • Manage software and calibration version control management.

    • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

  • Strong understanding of electrical dynamics, battery behavior, and vehicle cross-functional feature implementation implications. 

  • Understanding of electric vehicle propulsion systems. 

  • Familiar with functional safety/ ISO 26262 / STPA, CAN, PLM, ALM, JAMA or equivalent work products and methods. 

  • Experience with automotive, off-highway or heavy duty equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. 

 

Required education and experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering 

    • 5+ years experience in Control Systems software. 

    • 5+ years experience in MATLAB/Simulink-based controls development, code generation, debugging, and model testing. 

    • 5+ years experience in calibration using models-based systems development software or another typical automotive development environment. 

    • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification (can be completed upon hire). 

Preferred education and experience:

    • Master’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering or equivalent. 

    • Knowledge and basic understanding of C/C++. 

    • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)  

    • Familiar with High Voltage Systems 

    • Lean Six Sigma Training – Green belt certification or higher 

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

 Authorized to work in the United States.
