Mechanical Engineer

Summary/Objective

DD DANNAR, LLC, is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of a mobile, off-road energy platform that is the first in a new class of hybrid-electric work vehicles. We are looking for a Mechnical Engineer to design new vehicles for development, conduct laboratory testing for performance safety, and troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues with current vehicles.

Essential Functions:

• Design fabricated structural parts   
• Package electrical and hydraulic components; vehicle layout.  
• Specify and design hydraulic systems  
• Specify and design cooling systems  
• Specify and design mechanical attachments, i.e. Dump bed and scissor lift  
• Specify drive train components, i.e. axles, gearbox, wheels and tires.  
• Specify electric motors for drivetrain and hydraulic systems in collaboration with electrical engineering.  
• Layout cab ergonomics and controls.   
• Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

• This position does not supervise others. 

 Work environment

• Office environment  
• Assembly floor – possible exposure to chemicals 

Physical demands:

• Able to sit for long periods of time. 
• Able to stand for long periods of time. 
• Must be able to lift 15 lbs.   
• Must be able to maneuver around the vehicle which includes climbing and bending. 

Travel Required: 

• Less than 5%

Required education and experience: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 
• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing setting. 
• Experience in designing a vehicle (or something similar). 
• Lean Six Sigma Training – Yellow belt minimum 

Preferred education and experience: 

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 
• Certification in CAD software. 
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. 
• Lean Six Sigma Training – Green belt certification. 

Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

Authorized to work in the United States.
